Research and Development Center in Prague

A technical and development center (R&D = Research & Development) in Prague Holešovice, established in 2002, is a part of the Rakovník plant. Since it has been established, it went through a dramatical expansion to strenghten the position of Valeo in the Czech Republic. In current time it is a workplace for about 70 employees and also for the upcomming years it is planned the increase of the production as well as the volume of people.

In the R&D Center, there can be found the air conditioning units and control panels construction department, the numerical computation department, laboratories including the optical measurements, prototypes and the equipment for testing a durability and other validation criteria both for the development and serial products.

The development works on the projects are realized in a co-operation with the plants in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden and USA. The new generation of the cars Peugeot 308, 408 and 608, new Pasat, VW Golf, Octavia, Superb, new generation of BMW3, Citroën C4, Renault, Nissan and others is among the current projects of VALEO in the Czech Republic.

The development Engineers work on the most up-to-date IBM workstations. The used software is Catia V4 and V5, whereas the new projects are fully developed only in the V5 version.

Beside the mechanical construction department, a part of the project teams in the Czech Republic is also the industrialization department that is in charge of the production lines development, the suppliers quality control department.
